Entrance to Chateau Lehelec / Marc Le Mintier in front of Chateau / Close as I could get
In 2005 I made a brief contact with the present owner of the Chateau De Lehelec. This Chateau has been in the LeMintier family since the 1500’s. This property, always inhabited, is in the same family since 1578. In 1589, François Le Mintier married Marie Bocan, Dame de Léhélec. They live in the Manor a little below the castle, still standing today. But become too small for their children, they decide to enlarge. “François Le Mintier initiated, during the reign of Louis XIV, the construction of a very classic Louis XIII style castle. “ The furniture, witnessed that time has kept his place in the lounges. The chateau was built in 1660 by Jean Mintier, and is now owned by Marquis Le Mintier de Léhélec. We tried to see him on our 2005 visit to France but our schedules did not coincide. Mary Ann and I did go to see the Chateau, but the family was at their residence in Paris. We could only get somewhat close enough to take a couple of pictures from far away. It is open to the general public for tours in July and August. Maybe next time.
